“Hotel review, not pub. Great for what you get on a budget! Rooms were spacious, cool and had good amenities. Only downside was the shared toilets had a bad smell always and the TV struggled to connect to any channels except for the Korean ASMR channel? But, extra star for the staff who gave us good recommendations, places to store bags and late checkout. Thank you guys!”

“Islington Barracks Hotel has absolutely nailed their new renovations! The whole place feels fresh, modern, and welcoming, and the rooms are incredibly spacious and beautifully finished — such a comfortable stay. We ordered the salt & pepper squid, the pork and apple roll, and the rotisserie chicken croquettes, all washed down with a hazy mid Good Folk beer… and every single bite (and sip!) was delicious. The food quality and flavours were spot on. It’s such a great venue with so much to offer — from the updated rooms to the inviting atmosphere and impressive menu plus they do trivia, meat raffles & joker poker. A great addition to Islington!”

“Had the steak for dinner. Was absolutely beautiful, cooked to perfection. My husband had the pork bangers and mash and said it was very good. Totally recommend for dinner.”

“We had dinner on Sunday evening. What a shame that more people weren’t there to experience amazing food and service. The schnitzel was the best I have ever tried with moist tender chicken cooked to perfection and a lovely coating. Salad, chips and sauce were a top accompaniment. Would have loved a dessert but after dinner we were all too full- probably shouldn’t have ordered share plates to start. Wine and cocktails were delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back the next time we are visiting family.”

“Seriously Not Pub Food should be the name of this place. Honestly the food coming out of the kitchen at this place is off the chain. I am talking some of the best food I have eaten, and I have been to 3 hatted restaurants across Aus. A note to all you would be doing yourself an absolute injustice to not try the food here. It’s worth the detour in to Newy off the highway if you are coming from either north or south!! So god damn good.”

“Well got to love the new look and feel about Barracks Hotel at Islington. We had a very nice meal there and a cold Reches and glass of nice red wine to top it off. This place has a great feel about it and it has a great variety on the menus. To all the staff as this new look pub you have done a good job and I would definitely recommend going here first a nice meal and drink.”
